There was actually an agreement before I took my dad here and I told him exact what I would not do. Although he agreed to quit, he was so miserable and even angry during the process, as understandable and as predicted.
It didn't violate any libertarian/conservative principle, since I did not imprison my dad. He was free to go out to buy cigarette, he just did not know where. I as a free person do not need to take my dad order to buy him anything.
As for health care, he did not need any during the 18 months he was here, saving me the dilemma and possible guilt.
I am not going to lie, if my dad had needed to go to hospital, I would have used public health available. I have been forced to pay taxes for those services without choices. Why would I not use those services to get some back?
