我缺乏物理学和其历史方面的知识，无法从那些方面猜测。我的想法来自读罗伯逊自己的文字(下附)。我觉得他根本不在乎他和爱因斯坦的面子，也不在乎爱的地位，更不在乎别人可能的评价。他就是想把问题讨论清楚。而摆出双方观点让同行评议是最有效的把问题讨论清楚的办法。
